Dear students,

Prevention Day is held on the initiative of the President of Iceland and is in cooperation with various parties that, in one way or another, deal with youth issues.

A program takes place in 9th grade elementary schools all over the country where you are asked to take an active part in discussions about prevention.

You are divided into working groups where you are asked to discuss these issues. You choose a group leader who will lead the discussions, take down points and record them and send the group's thoughts to the email address forvarnardagur@landlaeknir.is.

Next, a video will be shown about a short film competition in which we encourage you to participate. In the short film competition, you have to cover the three, two or just one of the issues that the Prevention Day emphasizes. Those points are the same that you discuss in your discussions at school today.

While we thank you very much for your participation, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to let your light shine and say what you think. Hopefully the day will be pleasant and interesting for all of us!
